How do I choose the right cabinet width for my bathroom?

As a general guide: 60 cm suits guest toilets and compact single bathrooms; 80 cm fits the majority of standard Norwegian bathrooms; 100 cm is ideal for family bathrooms with two users; 120 cm works for larger bathrooms or double-sink configurations. What is the difference between MDF and chipboard for bathroom furniture?

MDF (medium-density fibreboard) is denser and more uniform than chipboard. In a bathroom environment, the key advantage is at the panel edges: chipboard swells when cut edges are exposed to humidity, particularly around the sink area. MDF has a more consistent fibre structure and does not have the same weak points. HeiHus uses 18mm MDF certified to EN 622-5. Most budget bathroom furniture uses 16mm chipboard.

Can HeiHus furniture be installed by a plumber or bathroom fitter?

Yes. HeiHus Crest cabinets arrive pre-assembled, include a clear installation guide, and are designed so many customers can install them themselves. The cabinet mounts to the wall using standard fixings, and the porcelain basin connects to standard Norwegian plumbing fittings. A plumber or bathroom fitter can also install it if preferred. Why is 18mm MDF better than 16mm chipboard?

18mm MDF is denser, more moisture resistant, and holds fixings more securely than standard 16mm chipboard used by most competitors.
